While well constructed, the whistle is very small. Its shrill sound is indeed piercing, but its projection is quite limited. My cat was frightened by it in the house, but I am not sure of its effectiveness with coyotes on  the metro park walk trail.t

Whistle was definitely much smaller than I thought, but it is definitely loud, needs more force to be fully heard but it'll catch attention that's for sure
