I don’t leave a lot of product reviews, but this one deserves it.

I bought the Nitecore EDC17 expecting a good compact EDC light, but I was genuinely surprised by how much usable light comes out of something this small. The 1500-lumen beam has excellent coverage while still reaching much farther than I expected. It doesn’t feel like a tiny flashlight trying to act bigger than it is — it feels like a legitimately capable light that just happens to be compact.

I work in healthcare safety, emergency management, physical security, and Environment of Care, so I bought it as an actual work tool, not just a pocket flashlight. The main light is more than capable for inspecting dark mechanical areas, exterior spaces, stairwells, parking areas, utility spaces, and other places where good visibility matters.

The UV light is probably what surprised me most. I expected it to be useful mainly at close range, but I was able to see residue fluorescing on windows across the street while testing it outside. At work, I plan to use it with fluorescent marker products like Glo Germ to evaluate environmental cleaning and identify transfer on high-touch surfaces during inspections. The amount of UV output makes it much more practical for scanning an area instead of having to hold the light inches from every surface.

The laser is also genuinely useful. I can use it during presentations, point out specific building features during inspections, trace sight lines and potential security blind spots, and identify exactly what I’m referring to when working with Facilities, Security, or other departments in large spaces.

I showed it to my father-in-law inside and he thought it was pretty cool. Then we took it outside, and within about a minute he was saying, “Wait a minute, let me see that,” because the performance was so much better than he expected from something this size.

For around $100, I’m extremely impressed with the output, beam coverage, throw, UV performance, laser, and overall usefulness. It manages to combine several tools I actually use into something small enough to carry every day.

I’m very glad I chose this over the other compact lights I was considering. If you want a small EDC light that actually performs like a serious tool, this one is hard to beat.

This is a great every day carry light. For the price, this is probably the best value for the money when it comes to performance and durability. The light is not too large to carry in your pocket and it packs the punch of lights much larger. The only downside is that the light only has two modes, high and low. Low is great for anything up close, but it would be nice to have another power level between low and high. The light does heat up quickly when running on high mode, but that's not critical as long as you are not holding the light by the head. Overall I would recommend this light to anyone looking for a powerful everyday carry light.

A very good life for each charge. I only need one battery for the headlamp in my search & rescue pack, and one spare. I'm pretty much good to go for any mission.

I need only one spare battery for my search and rescue pack for the new headlamp. Once a quarter (i.e., only a few times a year), I pull out the headlamp battery and the spare battery and charge them in a short amount of time. I'm always ready to go as the batteries are always topped off.

This headlamp is for my search and rescue pack. The light lasts a good long time and, even more important, I am able to get rid of a bulk of batteries that I used for my old headlamp. That lightens my pack. I do have one fully charged spare battery in case of a long night mission, but no where near the multiple batteries for my old headlamp. It is very easy to adjust the brightness function ... you don't necessarily need the full brightness for simply walking down a trail. But if you are searching for someone off trail, the high beam is excellent for scouring those off-trail locations. Highly recommended.

The HA19 is an excellent headlamp for my needs. The LOW setting handles just about everything - lighting up a flight of stairs, cooking, working in the shed, even walking down the gravel driveway in the dark. The ULTRA LOW setting is excellent for reading. Both those modes give me plenty of run time on my AA Eneloop batteries. The HIGH mode will reach out to the end of the 150foot driveway to where my old eyes can make out a black bucket at the end of it (I tried it), but I don’t need to do that. I would buy it again. My only “complaint” is it is impossible for me to put batteries in it in the dark. It doesn’t have the usual spring contact for the negative terminal that I could feel in the dark - and I can’t seem to remember the 2 battery orientations without looking at the markings in the battery compartment. Otherwise, it’s perfect for my needs, and I wanted a unit using Eneloop AA’s for the house & shed, and Energizer Lithiums for the car. I haven’t played with different color temps and such, will do that later. More knowledgeable folks might comment on that. Good product.

The light works well, the side switch is nice, color temperature button works well. I was surprised how much the different shades come in handy. The warmer colors are good for pictures and for inspection up close, as well as reading text on white background. The swivel feels solid and the magnet is strong. My only improvement would be that I would accept a little more size for some more battery capacity, but the battery life isn’t bad, but more is always nice.

Perfectly designed. Not too big, not too small. Solid range of output to choose from. Had for two years and it’s been a great light.

This flashlight holder works well and fits my molle vest just right. It allowed me to place my compact stream light inside it. It holds my flashlight securely in the holder. I recommend this holder to anyone who wears a molle style vest.

This is my favorite flashlight it's lightweight, easy function no need for directions. I would highly recommend purchase to everyone.

Fantastic light. A bit heavy for a headlamp but built strong. Gives plenty of light between the various settings and especially like it has a spot beam mode. 4th Nitecore light I've owned and still have the original keychain lamp they handed out as a promo when they first started. It is running strong, so imagine with the build of the HC75 this will last my lifetime. Thanks for a great lighting solution.
