Disappointing on/off Switch Design April 4, 2023 Reviewer: Greg P from United States   The on/off switch for this flashlight is actually twisting the case as if you were going to take the battery out. If you keep twisting it will come open, but you're supposed to stop when the light goes off then close it again to turn it back on. I do not like this — it feels like I'm leaving the body in a loosened (and possibly non-airtight) state just to keep it turned off. The seal may still work, but this is not ideal. Other than that it seems to be a good light/lantern. Was this review helpful to you?

feels great, almost there March 27, 2022 Reviewer: Damon from WashiWashington dcngton, DC United States   This is a little bit nicer as a lantern than flashlight. There are two controls that operate it: there is a magnetic cap area that has to be turned rapidly to activate the light. So when the light is not activated, the battery door is slightly unscrewed. A few quick tightend/loosen/tighten cycles through the 3 power levels. Then there is another screw knob on the light. Turning this one ejects a plastic tube, lipstick style. I use this attached to loops on my gear so that I have a lantern hanging from my chest. When metal is available, I can use the strong magnet to attach it as a work light. Turned into my go-to multipurpose light February 23, 2022 Reviewer: J from WY United States   Wanted this solely for a secondary light for backpacking and having a “sit and forget lantern.” It now also pulls double duty working under my vehicle, with the magnetic cap and diffuser keeping the light where I need it hands free.  Looking down the road this light will save me a ton of money since I no longer will have to get married and have a kid in order to have someone to hold the flashlight for me. Too smooth, no switch December 20, 2021 Reviewer: ScottTheSculptor from Wenatchee, WA United States   So this thing is only waterproof when it is on. You have to break the seal to turn it off. The barrel os super smooth. Why? So that it is more difficult to twist the lamp part out? The thing that you have to hang onto to twist either the super smooth barrel or the tailcap/switch is small, has no switch on it and not much better a grip than the super smooth barrel. Fail. Camping and Hurricanes April 6, 2021 Reviewer: LUIS PALACIO from Coral Gables   The Nitecore LR12 Lantern Flashlight, meets the expectations of the most demanding flashlightcoholic. It will serve you well at a camping site, as it will during outages due to stormy weather.  I am so impressed with the versatility of this lantern, that this one is the second one I bought.  Light when you need it.
